Our Approach
Aconite is built with privacy in mind. We collect the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to operate the server and website. We do not run analytics, serve ads, or sell any data.
What We Collect
The only data we store is:
- Minecraft UUID and username, collected automatically when you join the server. This is used for stat tracking, leaderboards, and milestone progression.
- Discord account ID and username, collected when you sign in to the website or link your account. This is used to associate your Discord account with your Minecraft account.
- In-game statistics such as playtime, blocks mined, mobs killed, and similar gameplay data.
- Discord levels from our Discord bot: your Discord display name, avatar, and XP for chat and voice. The top of each board is shown on our Leaderboards page. See the Bot Privacy Policy for what the bot counts.
- Your whitelist application, if you apply: your Discord ID and name, your Minecraft username, your age, time zone, how you found us and what you wrote about yourself, plus its status (sent, read, accepted or declined), which staff member decided and when. We keep it until you delete it on the Apply page or ask us to.
- Purchase records if you buy a rank or packs, including what was purchased and when. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our systems.
When You Apply
Your application is posted in a staff-only channel in our Discord server, where staff read it and accept or decline it. Our bot then sends you a direct message with the decision, and the Apply page shows it too.
When you send an application, our bot gives you the Members role in our Discord server. If you delete your application, it takes the role away again. If you edit it, staff see the new version and it goes back to waiting for a decision.
What We Do Not Collect
- Email addresses
- Passwords
- IP addresses (beyond standard server logs)
- Analytics or tracking data
- Cookies beyond what is required for authentication and your currency choice
Your Currency and Cart
We use your IP address to find your country, so the store can show prices in your currency. If that doesn't work, we use your browser's time zone or language. We don't store your country or set a cookie for it. Converted prices are estimates. Checkout shows the exact amount.
If you choose a currency yourself, we save it in a cookie called "currency" for one year. It only contains the currency code. Choosing Automatic deletes it.
Your cart is saved in your browser. We only see it when you check out. It's cleared after you pay.
Third-Party Services
- Discord is used for authentication (OAuth2). When you sign in, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar. When you apply, our bot checks whether that ID is a member of our Discord server, gives you the Members role and posts your application for staff (see When You Apply). We do not access your messages, your other servers, or your friends list.
- Stripe processes all payments. Stripe has its own privacy policy governing how your payment information is handled. We never see or store your card number.
- Mojang API is used to resolve Minecraft UUIDs to player names for display on leaderboards and profiles.
Data Storage and Security
All data is stored on our own servers. Only the website and our Discord bot can use the database, and only staff can see applications. We keep daily backups for 14 days, so something you deleted can stay in a backup for up to 14 days. We do not share your data with any third parties beyond the services listed above.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification of any inaccurate data.
- Erasure of your personal data.
- Data portability to receive your data in a structured format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our Discord server. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
Our services are intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
